- WATER -

The muscles & the skin are an aqueous environment, H2O actually gives the muscles length. You've probably already heard that by the time you are thirsty you are already dehydrated. The symptoms of dehydration mimic the symptoms we associate with " getting older ".

When you have muscle spasms, that sets in motion a particular set of circumstances: You have first the, offended area, which could be the simple result of being too long in one position, or only drinking coffee" in order to get this thing done ".Caffein will dehydrate you as will alcohol & strong tea. Another possibility is something you've done that involved one side of your body more than the other; or any set of other minor disturbances can trigger
spasm activity.

A normal muscle contraction is like the tines of 2 forks coming together, a spasm is where the fibers crumble on each other pressuring the local blood vessels. All the while the spasm activity is going on, lactic acid is being produced but the circulation is unable to get rid of it as fast as it is being produced. So it will migrate into the surrounding muscles & then you will have a regional issue. When you're drinking enough fluid you will be aiding
transport of both oxygenated blood in to the area as well as waste out.

Very important to drink before your treatment as the fluid will do it's work while I'm pushing the lactic acid into the interstitial spaces, those spaces outside of the muscle cells where the fluid comes by like a commuter train & picks up everything that's waiting on the platform.
